Description
California’s Central Valley… where the sun scorches the land and winter fog and rain thicken. George “Giorgio” Sheklian started making and repairing footwear in 1937 when he was 8 years old in Argentina. In 1962, George decided to move to the United States where he left his shoe factory “Shaklian Bros”. in Buenos Aires, Argentina. This began his successful journey to Giorgio’s Bottega.
In 1963, George opened his first shoe making and repairing bottega (workshop) in Fresno, CA and later a shoe boutique offering bespoke shoes called “Step’n’Out”.
